Sunday Pamper

5 January 2015

This is a sad post to write as it is my last christmas pamper as the festive season comes to a close and the back to school/work blues kick in (cries a bit). Anyway lets enjoy the last moments of it! So I ran myself a bath, lit the christmas candles and gathered together some of my bath time favourites.

Lush - Father Christmas bath bomb
This bath bomb smells basically of christmas, it is at first a sherbet like scent and then as it diffuses into the air it is like christmas spice! It also turned my bath water green with a white fluffy layer of foam like bubbles on top! Amazing.

Candles - Yankee Candle - Sugared apple and Christmas eve
I love burning these two together, the sweetness of Sugared apple and the rich spice of Christmas eve combine so nicely! Mmm! I got so many christmas yankee candle samplers this year that I haven't managed to get through them all. So I guess I am going to have to save them until next Christmas now.

Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel
My favourite face moisturizer, use it every day! Leaves my skin lovely and smooth.

Liz Earle - Instat boost Skin Tonic
Liz Earle - Cleanse and Tonic
This Liz Earle cleansing duo is incredible! This is what I use to take my make up off or, like tonight, I sometimes just use it to freshen up my skin. I love it!

Viktor & Rolf - Flowerbomb body lotion
The smell of this body lotion is lovely, very perfume like and girly. My skin is now feeling super smooth.

Lush - Hot Toddy shower gel
This christmas shower gel smells of christmas spices. It is bright red with glitter in! I have been using the famous Snow Fairy shower gel all christmas so I have quite a lot of Hot Toddy left. Hopefully it will keep for next Christmas.

Heres how the bath bomb went...

Did you have a christmas pamper routine? What's your favourite lush bath bomb?

Now I feel like Christmas is officially over. Back to school on Tuesday (cries a lot).

How to get in the festive mood

8 November 2014

Halloween and bonfire night are over, which means it is acceptable to begin getting excited for Christmas. It is time to start feeling christmassy! I love this time of year because there are so many festive goodies to get your hands on, from lush bath melts to Starbucks gingerbread lattes. So I am going to share with you how I plan to get in the christmas spirit early this year!

LUSH
Now we have to start with LUSH. I spend all year getting excited for LUSH to bring out their christmas collection as they just smell of christmas and happiness! I picked up (from top to bottom in picture) Holly Go Lightly (bubble bar), Snow Angel (bath melt) and Melting Snowman (bath melt). Melting Snowman has a cocoa butter sent which is a smell I assosiate with relaxing. This bath melt also does not have any glitter so I won't need to clean the bath afterwards! With this bath melt you simply drop it into the bath and is will make the water creamy and will moisturize your skin. I plan to use this one after coming from the football match when I will be freezing cold! If you want something that smells of pure christmas time then Holly Go Lightly bubble bar is for you. It has a christmas-spice sent and is covered in glitter. They could not have made a more festive product if they tried! You crumble this one under the tap and it will create bubbles. Snow Angel is another cocoa butter bath melt, but this one has glitter on (great, more bath cleaning). What convinced me to buy this one was its claim to "dissolve into a shimmering blanket of snow" and "release a magical christmas scene". Now who doesn't want a magical christmas scene in their bath!? So I can't wait to use this one!

NAILS
I have chosen 'The thrill of brazil' by OPI for this post as it is one of my all time favourite shades and even though it is not in a christmas collection, I still think that the bright electric red colour is very festive. I also think glitter nail varnish is fun for this time of year, however it is not at all fun to remove!

THE CHRISTMAS ISSUE
I am signed up to many seasonal fashion guides and the Christmas ones are always my favourite! So sign yourself up to a few and relax with a hot chocolate and have a read. You get to know what this seasons must haves are and get in the cosy christmas spirit while doing so. A win win!

CANDLES
I love candles, especially at this time of year. I often opt for yankee candles, however unless I absolutely love a scent I always buy the small sampler ones (like in the photo) or the small jars as I like to mix up my rooms scent and get bored of the same one quite quickly! I have gone for Black Cherry for this time of year as I think it is a good representation of the change from Autumn to Winter. I think my next one is going to be Mistletoe! Having your house or bedroom smelling of christmas is a good place to start when trying to get into the festive spirit.

LIPS
Red is always a good colour for christmas obviously! So I am going to suggest Ruby Woo (matte) and Damn Glamorous (matte), both by MAC. Ruby Woo is one of my favourites out of all my red lipsticks. It really is stunning with a simple cat eye. Damn Glamorous has more of a pinky tone to it and I find that it goes really will with the Lipglass Viva La Glam Rihanna.  I think it is important to have Matte lipsticks at this time of year as it is party season and you don't want to have the trouble of reapplying every 10 minutes. If you want to add a bit off glitter and shine to the matte lips I suggest Lipglass Viva glam Rihanna. This is such a lovely pinky read glitter gloss which is sure to sparkle! Perfect for any christmassy occasion.

So I hope this gives you some ideas on how to get into that christmas spirit! Tweet me and let me know about some of your favourite christmas products @georgiamayblogs

My bedtime beauty routine

28 October 2014

There is nothing we all love more than getting tucked up into bed after a long tiring day. However, we should always resist the urge to jump straight in under the covers before giving our skin its daily pampering. Especially as the winter months are approaching it is very important to make sure we look after our skin to prevent it from dryness in the cold weather. So I am going to share with you what products I use every night before I get into bed.

Firstly I remove my makeup with Estee Lauder's Gentle eye makeup remover. I apply a small amount of this to a cotton pad and wipe off my make up. I love this remover as it provides a deep cleanse and leaves my skin feeling refreshed.

Next I fill the sink with warm water, give my face a quick rinse and scoop out a little bit of my face scrub Let The Good Times Roll by LUSH. You only need a tiny bit! I put this in the palm of my hand and mix it with some warm water to create a paste and gently massage it into my face to exfoliate my skin. I then wash this off with a damp flannel. Now, this is the best smelling face scrub I have ever used. If you are like me and love the smell of buttery popcorn then this product is for you. It leaves my skin feeling so refreshed and smooth. Well done LUSH!

After my face is clean I apply a few drops of Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair serum straight to my skin and gently massage all over my face. Hands down, I love this product. My skin feels so moisturized and smooth when I wake up on a morning. The serum absorbs quickly into the skin as it is oil free. It is very hydrating which makes my skin even-toned and radiant. It is very important to use a product that hydrates the skin well before bed as it is on a night when our skin loses most of its moisture and becomes dehydrated as we are not drinking water while we are asleep. However, I can not comment on if this product works for reducing wrinkles and fine lines as I am only 16 and do not have that problem yet! But in my opinion this is a great serum and I never go a night without using it.

I then move on to the Advanced Night Eye Repair serum, again by Estee Lauder. I have previously mentioned in other posts that I get dark circles under my eyes that I absolutely hate! I find that since using this product and drinking a lot of water that they have been reduced. It hydrates the skin around the eyes very well and sinks in fast. One of my all time favourite products by Estee Lauder.

Now that my face has been seen to, it is important not to forget about making sure the rest of my body is moisturized before i go to sleep. At the moment I really like Dove's Silky nourishing body cream. Mostly because I adore the smell! Basically it does what it says on the tub, which is to make my skin feel silky and nourished. It leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth and well hydrated. Great moisturizer, I highly recommend!

Do you have some bedtime favourites? Let me know!
