What's in my bag

17 January 2015

Hello everyone!
Sorry I haven't been able to post in a while, if you follow me on twitter you may know that I have had exams at school so have been overloaded with revision. But I found some time to write this post today. So here is the what's in my bag tag, here is what was in my bag when I went shopping the other week. I wanted to do this post because I love watching and reading other peoples what's in my bag posts. Hope you enjoy it!

My bag is from Michael Kors and I just love it so much. It is so big and has lots of compartments and side pockets!

Lets start with the essentials. I ALWAYS lose my house key so I have a really cool owl head on it which is from Paper chase to try stop me losing it. I also always keep a hair bobble or two in my bag, as I always forget to put one on my wrist when I leave the house. I carry my little compact mirror from Ted Baker, it is so pretty, I love rose gold! I always have some sort of perfume or body spray in there, today it is Michael Kors Sexy Amber, this is new to me and I am loving it! This must be like my sixth bottle of Soap & Glory's Hand Food, I go through so much of this stuff.

Next is my purse, I got this from All Saints and I really like it because it has loads of card holders, which is good for me because I have a loyalty card for probably every shop I go in, and little coin pockets. Then of course my phone, which I keep in a little Michael Kors leather sleeve to match my bag. Then I always keep my Raybans in my bag, even though I live in England. So I don't really know why I always have them but just in case!

Next comes make up! At the moment in my bag is the Naked on the run palette, which you can read more about in an earlier post. I always have at least 3 different lip products in my bag, today I have MACs Brave and Fetish and also Afghan Red by NARS. The lipgloss is from Urban Decay and features in the on the run palette.

Finally, I carry some essentials in this little pouch from Dune. In there is a travel sized gel moisturizer from Clinique, which you can read more about in my Clinique sonic system and 3 step skin care review. Also in there is my Nars creamy concealer in the shade Vanilla, if you have read my previous posts you will know I swear by this stuff! Next there are two brushes from Real Techniques, the contour brush and the buffer brush, I also have a review on these brushes on my blog too. Finally the Urban Decay De-Slick spray, I have just recently bought this to try and keep my make up in place for as long as possible and I am really liking the results so far! Definitely worth a try if you are like me and have quite oily skin and find your make up sliding around your face half way through the day.

So that is everything! You may be able to tell that my bag is quite heavy, I probably carry around way too much than I need too! Tweet me (@georgiamayblogs) with your hand bag essentials, would love to read them.

Sunday Pamper

5 January 2015

This is a sad post to write as it is my last christmas pamper as the festive season comes to a close and the back to school/work blues kick in (cries a bit). Anyway lets enjoy the last moments of it! So I ran myself a bath, lit the christmas candles and gathered together some of my bath time favourites.

Lush - Father Christmas bath bomb
This bath bomb smells basically of christmas, it is at first a sherbet like scent and then as it diffuses into the air it is like christmas spice! It also turned my bath water green with a white fluffy layer of foam like bubbles on top! Amazing.

Candles - Yankee Candle - Sugared apple and Christmas eve
I love burning these two together, the sweetness of Sugared apple and the rich spice of Christmas eve combine so nicely! Mmm! I got so many christmas yankee candle samplers this year that I haven't managed to get through them all. So I guess I am going to have to save them until next Christmas now.

Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel
My favourite face moisturizer, use it every day! Leaves my skin lovely and smooth.

Liz Earle - Instat boost Skin Tonic
Liz Earle - Cleanse and Tonic
This Liz Earle cleansing duo is incredible! This is what I use to take my make up off or, like tonight, I sometimes just use it to freshen up my skin. I love it!

Viktor & Rolf - Flowerbomb body lotion
The smell of this body lotion is lovely, very perfume like and girly. My skin is now feeling super smooth.

Lush - Hot Toddy shower gel
This christmas shower gel smells of christmas spices. It is bright red with glitter in! I have been using the famous Snow Fairy shower gel all christmas so I have quite a lot of Hot Toddy left. Hopefully it will keep for next Christmas.

Heres how the bath bomb went...

Did you have a christmas pamper routine? What's your favourite lush bath bomb?

Now I feel like Christmas is officially over. Back to school on Tuesday (cries a lot).

Clinique Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brush + 3 Step Skin Care Review

31 December 2014

Hello everyone, today I have another review for you! This time it is on Clinique's new Sonic System Face Brush and the 3 Step Skin care to go with it. I have been using the 3 step skin care for about 2 months now and have been using the brush for a week. So now I am going to tell you what I think!

Firstly I have had amazing results from using the 3 Step Skincare over these past 2 months. There are 4 different types for different skin types. I am skin type 3 which is combination/oily. You get a face soap, a clarifying lotion and a moisturizing gel and you use them in that order. My skin gets very oily down the T zone which causes my make up to slide throughout the day. However since using this routine the oiliness has been reduced and my make up now lasts a lot longer. My face has less shine and I don't get spots or blemishes often apart from the odd one once a month, which I can live with.

Since getting the face brush I now apply the face soap with the brush instead of a face cloth. I put a bit of the soap onto the middle of the brush and move it in circle motions around my face for 1 minute morning and night. The green bristles are for the T zone and the white are softer and for the rest of the face. I spend a quarter of the time focusing on the T zone with the green bristles as that is where I get most oily. You should not use the brush around the eye area though as the skin there is very delicate. Since using the brush I have found that my skin is left so smooth and feels fresh. The brush gets to places where a face cloth can't and provides a deep, pure cleanse of your pores. It claims to remove oil and dirt lying in your pores in the hard to reach areas. My pores have definitely got a lot smaller and are less noticeable now, which is incredible!

The brush comes with a holder and a charger. To charge the brush you simply sit it in its holder and plug it it. A green light will appear on the hand of the brush when charged. You cannot over charge it. The sonic system is also waterproof which is obvious. After using the brush you simply wash off the soap and dirt from the bristles and shake off any excess waster and leave to air dry. Simple!

So my experience so far with the Clinique Sonic System Cleansing brush and 3 Step Skincare has been great! It does everything it claims to do on the box and my skin has improved so much. The brush is so quick, easy and fun to use. It is gentle on the skin and does not cause irritation. I strongly recommend these incredible products to add to you skincare routine! If you have used this then please let me know your opinions too!

My handbag essentials!

27 October 2014

This weekend I was in London for the Lady Gaga concert, which was AMAZING! So I am going to take you through the essentials that never leave my handbag when I go away. I narrowed it down a lot to my favourite must haves that I could not leave the house without, because if I told you everything I keep in my handbag this post would be extremely long!

Firstly I like to keep my Mulberry pouch inside my hand bag with my keys, sunglasses and lipstick in just to keep them from getting lost amongst everything else in my bag. I never ever leave the house without my raybans, even living in England you never know when the sun might come out! I have had these sunglasses for 3 years now and I still love them. They never seem to go out of fashion.

Now for lipstick, I always have around 4 lipsticks in my bag for some reason. But my favourite lipstick for my weekend in London has been the shade PIRATE by Chanel. It is a bright red that looks great with a simple cat eye look. Which brings me on to my next essential, Benefit's They're Real liner! I love this eye liner, it is so easy to use and I can create a perfect flick in seconds. I even managed to do this in the toilet of a moving train. I class that as some sort of achievement!

Next, I always have my notebook and a pen to plan blog posts and write down any inspiration I encounter as the day goes on. I also keep the book Breakfast at Tiffany's in my bag as it is such a lovely story that I can read again and again. So if I am ever bored on a bus or a train I can go into my own little world and read for a little while. If you have not yet read this book I can not stress enough to you how much you need to!

My MAC mineralize skinfinish pressed powder is also always in my handbag. I have it in a shade darker than my skin tone so I can use it for contouring and adding a little more colour to my face. Along with this I also carry around the contour brush by Real Techniques to apply it.

Finally the most important thing... my phone! I keep my phone in a Michael Kors phone sleeve which matches my handbag. I try to convince myself that I bought it to stop my phone screen from getting scratched but really I'm guilty of buying it because it matched the bag...
