Makeup Haul & Reviews

27 October 2016

I have added so many new products to my make up kit in the last month, so here are my thoughts on some of them. I will be using these products in more make up tutorial posts to come! I hope you enjoy reading!

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder
Mac Pro Palette - Warm Neutral
Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow
MAC Lipstick - Whirl
Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips - Kim K. W
Chanel - Soleil Tan De Chanel
Benefit Roller Lash
Benefit Dew the Hoola
Chanel Lipstick - 402 Adrienne

I have been wanting to get my hands on the Laura Mercier translucent powder for so long now, so it was top of my birthday list! I now use it literally everyday. My make up now stays put all day and it controls the oily parts of my face really well. I put it on my T zone which used to get really shiny throughout the day, but the powder has completely sorted out that problem. I also use it to set my under eye concealer to stop it creasing.

Another one of my favourites from this haul is the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow. The packaging for this product is so stunning, it is a rose gold compact with a mirror. The bronzer does not look muddy or orangey when applied. It is very buildable and is the perfect sun kissed bronze with a little bit of a shimmer. The powder highlighter is equally as good, it illuminates the skin and reflects the light beautifully.

Chanel's Soleil Tan De Chanel is another great bronzing product. I apply this after my foundation and before a powder bronzer. I use it to sculpt out my cheek bones and also add some colour to my forehead and other places where the sun would naturally hit. This product could be used on its own, or you can add a touch of a powder bronzer over the top for a more defined look. The consistency of the cream is so gorgeous, it is incredibly soft and really easy to apply. I work it into my skin with a contour brush and just keep building it up until I have the look I wanted. It is easy to blend and looks very subtle and natural. This product will definitely be a staple in my makeup kit!

I also got the MAC Warm Neutral Pro Palette. I am a huge fan of MAC eyeshadows, I think they are so pigmented and really easy to blend. I got so excited when I opened this birthday present as the colours are so beautiful. I really love rose gold and pink tones on my eyes at the moment, so this palette is the perfect mix of shades. There are some neutral skin tone shades, golden shades, pink shades and browns. There is a mixture of matte and shimmer which I really like. This is the perfect addition to my makeup kit and I can tell I will be using it near enough everyday!

The Charlotte Tilbury Kim K. W lipstick has quickly become another one of my favourites. It is part of CT's Hot Lips collection, each of the 16 lipsticks are influenced by some of the worlds most inspiring celebrity women. Kim K. W is a pale pink nude which is designed to make lips look fuller. The texture of the lipstick is so silky on your lips and is also very wearable. I like to wear it on its own and also with the CT Iconic nude lip liner and the CT matte revolution lipstick Very Victoria. I like to put the Kim K. W lipstick in the middle of my lips to make a glossy, ombre effect which makes my lips look fuller.

I recently repurchased some of my favourite products from Charlotte Tilbury that I could not go without! The Iconic Nude Lip Cheat and the Feline Flick liquid liner. CT does the best lip liners, Iconic Nude is the perfect colour that blends with your natural lip colour which creates a natural fuller lip effect. It goes well with a lot of different lipsticks such as CT Very Victoria, MAC Whirl, MAC Velvet Teddy and many more. The Feline Flick eye liner pen is so easy to use and has a very pointed tip to make it easy to create that sharp flick.

I also decided to try one of Urban Decay's Heavy Metal glitters, I got Distortion. I am obsessed with anything glittery or shimmery, so I thought I would like this product. The applicator is a thin brush, very much like an eye liner brush. The glitter is in a clear liquid which makes it easy to apply. I have played around with this product a bit and I like to put a thin line under the flick of my eye liner of above my eyeliner on my lid. I also think it looks nice in the inner corner or your eye as a highlight effect. It could also be worn over the top of eye shadow.
