Urban Decay Vice 3

2 December 2014

As some of you may have seen on my twitter and instagram, last month I bought Urban Decay's Vice 3 palette while I was in Leeds. I said I would write a review in around a month after I had used it for a while and well it has now been a month!

I was really excited to try Vice 3 because Urban Decay is my favourite brand for eye shadows. I got the Naked 2 palette a while ago and I love it, so I thought that I now had to try the new Vice. Vice 3 is full of a mixture of neutral to blacks and grays to very bright colours. The great thing about this palette is that all the colours are in themes like cool shades mattes, shimmers and rich shades so there is a lot to choose from and also you can mix them up a bit. So if you do not fancy a full on bright purple or pink eye shadow you can subtly blend it in with some of the browns which looks amazing! I have never really experimented much with brighter colours on my eyes and I have always stuck with neutrals but I thought why not give it a try and push the boundaries a little.

Vice 3 includes 20 different eyeshadows and comes with a double ended brush to apply. One side for designed for applying to the crease. I really like this brush and I use it also with my Naked 2 palette. With Vice 3 you get  a matching make up bag which the palette fits in, which is also handy for brushes.

My favourite shades at the moment are Bondage, Last Sin and Brokedown. Bondage is a lovely deep purple colour which isn't too vibrant. I blend this colour with browns in the crease. Last Sin is a shimmery light gold that brightens the inner lid. Brokedown is a brown/gold sparkly colour which I wear probably every time I use the palette! I am yet to venture into the blues and greens on the palette as I am not that daring yet! But I really do love the purples and pinks which I thought I would never be able to wear.

This photo is of my first attempt at using Vice 3 the colours I used were Last Sin (inner corner), Lucky (lid), Reign (crease and above lid), Bondage (crease), Brokedown (blended between crease and lid) and Truth (brow bone and inner corner). I loved blending the different colours as there is so many to choose from! If you are wondering, the lipstick in this photo is Media by MAC.

So if you are thinking about a new palette then I defiantly recommend this one! It is my favourite palette I have tried just because of the wide variety of colours. It would also make a great christmas gift if you are stuck on what to buy for a make up lover and don't know if they prefer neutral colours, bright colours, matte finishes or shimmery finishes because this palette has it all. It is £42 and can be bought in department stores such as Debenhams.

If you have tried Vice 3 please let me know what you think in the comments, or if you have a favourite palette then I would love to know about that too.
