New Year, New Makeup

15 January 2017

For my first post of the new year, I thought there is no better way to introduce 2017 than with some new makeup. So last week I went out and treated myself to some new products that I have been wanting to try and also repurchased some firm favourites.

First is the MAC lipstick in the shade Yash. I have been meaning to buy this lipstick for so long but I always forget about it. I would describe this shade as a deep nude, it's colour is in between Honeylove and Velvet Teddy. My go to MAC lipsticks are Velvet Teddy, Taupe, Whirl and Persistence and even though Yash is very close in shade, I wanted to try something new. It is a very wearable colour for everyday and will match easy to a lot of makeup looks.

I also picked up the very highly rated MAC lip pencil in the shade Spice. It is a gorgeous pinky nude shade that will go perfectly with a lot of my go to lipsticks. I have been hooked on the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheats for so long now and forgot about how much I used to love MAC lip pencils, so decided I should go back to them and see how they compare.

I repurchased the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NW20, which is one of my all time favourite concealers. It is so easy to blend into foundation, it is full coverage and so long lasting. It is the perfect under eye concealer and it is also great for highlighting around your brows. I always like to have a back up of this concealer as I don't know what I would do if it suddenly ran out on me!

The next product is Charlotte Tilbury's Full Fat Lashes mascara. It is about time I tried a new mascara as I have been obsessing over Benefit's roller lash for far too long, it is just so good! The description of this product on the website claims that is offers 'curl, separation, volume, length, and drama'. So I am excited to see if it lives up to my expectations and how it compares to my trusty Rollerlash mascara. From a first impression I can say that the brush looks amazing, it has so many finely placed bristles that should capture every lash.

Last year I tried so many eyeliner's to try and find the perfect one. I alternated between CT's Feline Flick, Nars liner pen, Urban Decay 24/7 liquid eyeliner, Benefit's They're Real liner and MAC's Fluidline gel. So, it is fair to say I went through a good few eyeliners in 2016. I have finally decided that my favourite was the Urban Decay 24/7 liquid eyeliner. This product comes with a tiny brush in the lid that created the most perfect wing. The gel was long lasting and jet black, unlike some of the others I tried which would appear as an off black/grey colour when applied and then flake off during the day. When I went to repurchase this eyeliner I found out that it has been renamed as the Razor Sharp liquid liner and has brand new packaging. This is definitely now my holy grail eyeliner!

I am so excited to share the posts I have lined up for this year! I have so much planned and I will be uploading more regularly that I did last year. I also want to say thank you to everyone who complimented me on my Blogmas posts leading up to Christmas. I really enjoyed posting every day during Blogmas, it was so exciting seeing the posts I had scheduled and planned go live and it was even better when people were telling me that they enjoyed reading them. Therefore, I am eager to post a lot more content this year. I am also aiming to make more YouTube videos and expand my blog!

Thanks for reading,
Georgia May X
