Happy New Year everyone and welcome to my first post of 2015! I am going to say the typical thing that I think every other girl has said, where did 2014 go? So I sat in my room picking out what have been my favourite products of 2014, the things I have been using on an every day basis. Be ready for a long post, here we go...
Make up
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer - I gave up foundation in 2014 and began using Laura Mercier's Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer. I now swear by this stuff, it is incredible. It has such a nice smooth finish and makes your skin have a lovely glow to it. It wakes my skin up and doesn't harm it like foundation did. Foundation is a lot thicker than tinted moisturizer and doesn't fully allow your skin to breathe therefore causing spots and irritation. My skin has improved so much since using this and I will be carrying on with it in 2015.
Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer - I discovered this concealer later in the year but I have not stopped using it since! It has great coverage for under the eyes and lasts all day. It does not crease or slide down your face. I love this stuff and it has just beaten MACs Pro Longwear concealer for me!
Benefit Stay Don't Stray - This is one of my favourite discoveries of the year. As I love dramatic eyeshadow so much, I needed something to keep it in place and reduce fallout. This stuff does the job! I never apply eye makeup without it now. It covers any veins in your eyelids and is a great base. My eyeshadow now looks the same when I come in as it did when I went out.
Benefit Hoola - I bought this matte bronzer in the airport in July and started using it when I was on holiday. I just love how it is great for contouring and also adding a bit of a tan to your face. If you haven't already tried it I suggest you do!
Clinique high impact mascara - This mascara is great for volume and separation. It also does not produce a lot of fall out. I have also loved the They're Real Mascara by Benefit and Perversion Mascara by Urban Decay this year but the one that I have most used is this one by Clinique.
Benefit They're Real push up liner - This is my all time favourite gel eyeliner, EVER. It is incredible and I have repurchased it 3 times now and even have backups. I use it almost everyday and it is so easy to apply. Creating a straight winged flick has never been more straight forward! It is almost fool proof. I can't praise this stuff enough, so go try it!
Urban Decay Naked 2 eye palette- This eyeshadow palette has more or less been the only thing I have used for eyeshadows this year. It contains a variety of bronze and neutral shades with both matte and shimmer finishes. Towards the end of the year I purchased the Vice 3 palette also by UD and I am loving that at the moment too but I have used Naked 2 throughout the whole year and it deserves it's credit!
Lipsticks - MAC Brave and MAC Chili - I have chosen 2 lipsticks as my favourites of 2014 as Brave is a nude and Chili is a Red. I have worn Brave almost every day since I purchased it. I found it so hard to find a nude that matched my skin tone so when I found this one I didn't want to stop wearing it! As for Chili, you can probably tell by how much it left, I have used this a lot this year. I got in in around January time and have worn it for every special occasion. I really need to repurchase it!
Nails
My favourite nail varnishes this year have been by OPI and are The Thrill Of Brazil (bright red) and Dulce De Leche (pinky nude). I used the red since January and I have repurchased it twice. It is my favourite red nail varnish I have came across so far. I got the nude colour in July and I have been wearing it on a daily basis as it is very subtle and elegant. In my opinion, OPI is the best brand for nail polishes, I totally think that they are worth the money as they last a good week without chipping and look like your DIY manicure was done in a professional salon!
This year I also discovered two amazing products by Sally Hansen. The first is Hard As Nails, which is a base coat nail strengthener. This stuff works wonders for me as I have very soft flimsy nails and when I wear this base coat they instantly become stronger and do not bend. This helps my nail varnish stay on longer too. The next product is No Chip which is a top coat. As you may be able to guess by the name it prevents chipping. This keeps my nail varnish looking fresh for longer. I love it!
Skincare
My favourite skin care products this year have been the Clinique 3 Step skincare routine. If you have read my previous posts, you will know I have talked about this set a lot. But again I will say it has improved my skin and prevented oiliness and spots. So its a winner for me! Thanks Clinique!
I decided to share my favourite fake tan as well as I go through so many bottles and so many different types it is ridiculous. My favourite this year has been St. Tropez Bronzing lotion. It does not streak and stays on for a good week. It fades out evenly so you aren't left looking patchy. It is amazing!
Perfume
My most used perfume of 2014 has to be Lady Million by Paco Rabanne. It is still, after wearing it more or less all year, my favourite scent. I have gone through 3 bottles of it and I am planning on wearing it through 2015 too! I have also been loving Vera Wang's Princess and Moschino Pink Bouquet. But my most loved is definitely Lady Million.
So thats it! All my beauty favourites of 2014. Another year over! I would love to know some of your most used products from 2014.
