Urban Decay - NAKED ON THE RUN review

30 December 2014

Hello again! As you may know from reading my last post, I got the new Naked On The Run all in one palette for christmas. I absolutely love Urban Decay, especially for eye shadows. So I was looking forward to this review!

What is included:

  • Perversion mascara
  • 24/7 Eye pencil in the shade Stag
  • Naked Lip gloss in the shade Sesso
  • 6 eyeshadows: Dive, Fix, Resist Dare, Stun, extra large dose of shade 5050
  • Bronzer
  • Blush

Design

Firstly, I love the design of this palette. The outside is so pretty! Also it is quite compact and fits in my handbag. Since I got it I have took it everywhere with me. It includes everything you need to complete your make up on the go or touch up as the day goes on. I really like the mirror in this palette, it isn't one of them rubbish tiny ones that you can only see one eye in. It covers the whole lid and you can see your whole face, which obviously makes applying make up a lot easier. Also it is so easy to get out of your bag and find what you need quickly as everything is set out beautifully and has its own slot. I always find myself rummaging through my make up bag trying to find an eyeliner which is very hard when I'm in a hurry!

The Products

Lets start with the eyeshadows. Now I am a huge fan of building up my eyeshadow as I never just wear one colour. All these shades go really well together. I put Dive on my whole lid and then mix Fix and Dare together to put just before the crease. I also put these shades half way in under my eye and blend. For the crease I use Stun and I really emphasize it and bring it all the way along. I use the 5050 shade to highlight he inner corner and brow bone. I really love these eyeshadows. I also use these eyeshadows with my Naked and Naked 2 palette when I am going out on a night. Mixing and experimenting with eyeshadows is definitely my favourite part of make up!

The eye liner is brown, to go with the shadows. I put this half way along the top of my lip, starting at the outer corner. I then smudge this to make a sort of messy, smokey look. I also apply it to my lower lash line, again half way in, starting at the outer corner and smudge it.

The mascara makes lashes long and gives them volume and separation. The little slogan on the bottle says 'Bigger. Badder. Blacker' and well I guess it doesn't lie! I had never tried this mascara from Urban Decay before as I swear by the Clinique volume mascara. But this mascara really gave me a pleasant surprise. I think the most important property that a mascara needs is to not create any fall out under your eyes as the day goes on. The worst thing is when you are a few hours into your day and you pass a mirror and have black under your eyes and look like a panda! This mascara has so far produced no fall out for me, so i really rate it!

The bronzer and blush in this palette are really just your mediocre cheek powders. They are good but not to the level of Nars bronzer and MAC blushes. I find the bronzer a little too orange and the blush too bright for my skin tone. So on a morning i apply my Nars or Sleek bronzer and blush. However if my contour needs topping up in the day then I find it is okay to use the ones from the palette, but I do not put this on by itself to start the day.

My favourite product from the palette has to be the lipgloss. Now, I am not a big lipgloss wearer but this one I have just fell in love with! It is the loveliest nude/pink colour. The colour really shows up and gives a lovely glossy shine to your lips. It stays on for a good few hours before it needs reapplying (unless you eat or drink).

Here is the look i created using the Naked On The Run Palette

So over all I think this palette is really worth the money (£37). It is the perfect size and includes everything you need. My favourite make up product at the moment by far! Have you got this palette? Please let me know what you think of it, would love to hear your opinions!
